About the Product

• We procure our pesticide-free Urad Gota (whole white urad) from farmers in Madhya Pradesh who cultivate Urad without using any synthetic pesticides, herbicides, weedicides and GM seeds.
• Urad is 25% protein by weight! It is therefore an excellent choice for vegans who want to include a non-animal protein source in their diet.
• We do not polish any of our pulses/legumes and Urad is not an exception. Not polishing the dal helps retain nutrients and the natural earthy flavors!
• Our pulses/legumes have lesser moisture content. You can therefore store them for longer. When cooked, they tend to absorb more water resulting in higher yield!
• Urad, being a legume, helps fix nitrogen into the soil. Urad also helps conserve water and plays a role in preserving biodiversity. So while you are eating those delicious idlis made from our pesticide-free urad, you are in fact contributing to saving the environment! It is, by nature, gluten-free.
